SB754,1,3 1An Act to amend 13.09 (1); and to create 13.101 (18) of the statutes; relating

membership of the Joint Committee on Finance and consideration of

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
The bill specifies that the eight senators and eight representatives to the
assembly who serve on the Joint Committee on Finance must consist of five senators
chosen from the majority party, three senators chosen from the minority party, five
representatives chosen from the majority party, and three representatives chosen
from the minority party. There is no existing requirement relating to the partisan
makeup of JCF.
This bill also provides that JCF may not consider or take executive action on
any motion offered at committee unless the motion has been distributed to all
members of JCF at least 24 hours before JCF considers or takes executive action on
the motion. The motion must also be posted on the Legislative Fiscal Bureau's
Internet site at least 24 hours before JCF considers or takes executive action on the
motion.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB754,1 4Section 1. 13.09 (1) of the statutes is amended to read:

113.09 (1) There is created a joint standing committee, to be known as the joint
2committee on finance, consisting of 8 5 senators chosen from the majority party, 3
3senators chosen from the minority party, 5 representatives to the assembly chosen
4from the majority party,
and 8 3 representatives to the assembly chosen from the
5minority party. The senators and representatives to the assembly shall be
appointed
6as are the members of standing committees in their respective houses.
