to create 16.306 (2) (am) and 20.505 (7) (fk)
2of the statutes;
relating to: transitional housing grants and making an

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Administration provides transitional
housing grants to counties, municipalities, community action agencies, and private
organizations for the purpose of providing housing and associated supportive
services to homeless individuals and families in order to facilitate the movement of
homeless persons to independent living. This bill provides an additional $2,500,000
in the 2017-19 fiscal biennium to fund that grant program.
Also, under the bill, in awarding transitional housing grants, DOA must give
priority to counties, municipalities, community action agencies, and private
organizations using rapid-rehousing and housing first program models, as
determined by the department.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
