AJR44,1,32 Whereas, Esther Kolb Walling was born on April 7, 1940, in the Town of
3Rushford, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, and died on February 1, 2017; and
AJR44,1,54 Whereas, Esther K. Walling graduated from Oshkosh High School and
5attended the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh; and
AJR44,1,96 Whereas, Esther K. Walling was active in local government, serving as Town
7of Menasha Clerk from 1975 to 1977 and Town of Menasha Chair from 1977 to 1981,
8and later working to incorporate the Town of Menasha as the Village of Fox Crossing;
9and
AJR44,1,1110 Whereas, Esther K. Walling was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in
111982 and served from 1983 to 1991; and
AJR44,1,1412 Whereas, in the course of her assembly service, Esther K. Walling served as
13ranking minority member of the Assembly Committee on Aging and the Joint Survey
14Committee on Retirement Systems; and

1Whereas, upon her retirement from the assembly, Esther K. Walling continued
2to serve her community through volunteer work; now, therefore, be it
AJR44,2,6 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
4Wisconsin State Legislature join in honoring the life and public service of Esther
5Kolb Walling and extend their condolences to her family and friends; and, be it

AJR44,2,9 7Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
8resolution to Mrs. Walling's husband, Garth, and to their children, Nicole Smith and
9Nancy Walling.
