This bill provides that no house of the legislature may pass a bill that overturns
any local government policy, ordinance, or regulation unless the bill is approved by
two-thirds of those members present and voting. The bill applies to policies,
ordinances, and regulations of school districts, counties, cities, villages, and towns.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB245,1 4Section 1. 13.086 of the statutes is created to read:
SB245,1,7 513.086 Bills overturning local government policies, ordinances, and
6regulations.
(1) In this section, “local government" means a school district, county,
7city, village, or town.
