SB331,1,2 1An Act relating to: monitoring industrial sand mining and processing
2operations and making an appropriation.

This bill authorizes eight full time equivalent positions to the Department of
Natural Resources for monitoring industrial sand mining and processing operations
and provides funding for those positions from the environmental fund.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB331,1 3Section 1. Fiscal changes.
SB331,2,44 (1) Industrial sand operation monitoring. In the schedule under section
520.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of natural
6resources under section 20.370 (2) (mq) of the statutes, the dollar amount for fiscal
7year 2017-18 is increased by $900,000 to increase the authorized FTE positions for
8the department by 8.0 SEG positions for monitoring industrial sand mining and

1processing operations. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for
2the appropriation to the department of natural resources under section 20.370 (2)
3(mq) of the statutes, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2018-19 is increased by
4$900,000 to provide funding for the positions authorized in this subsection.
SB331,2 5Section 2. Effective date.
SB331,2,76 (1) This act takes effect on the day after publication, or on the 2nd day after
7publication of the 2017 biennial budget act, whichever is later.
