SJR108,1,2 Relating to: recognizing May 7 through May 11, 2018, as National Teacher Appreciation Week in Wisconsin.

SJR108,1,4 Whereas, throughout Wisconsin and across the nation, teachers have an important and lasting impact on the lives of our children; and

SJR108,1,6 Whereas, teachers spend countless hours preparing lessons, evaluating progress, counseling and coaching students, and performing community service; and

SJR108,1,8 Whereas, teachers fill many roles as educators, encouragers, listeners, explorers, role models, motivators, and mentors; and

SJR108,1,10 Whereas, teachers keep American democracy alive by laying the foundation for good citizenship and work hard to develop the leaders of tomorrow; and

SJR108,1,12 Whereas, the future of our country depends upon providing quality education to all students in our state; and

SJR108,1,15 Whereas, the legislature has an opportunity to commend and recognize the outstanding work of public, private, and home school educators across Wisconsin and the United States; and

SJR108,2,2 Whereas, Teacher Appreciation Week honors the impact teachers have on our students and communities; now, therefore, be it

SJR108,2,5 Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature hereby recognizes May 7 through May 11, 2018, as National Teacher Appreciation Week in Wisconsin.
