AB1023,2,4 213.205 Equal opportunity intern program. (1) In this section,
3“low-income household” means a household having an income that does not exceed
4300 percent of the federal poverty line based on family size.
AB1023,2,6 5(2) Each assembly office may employ one intern and each senate office may
6employ up to 2 interns under this section, subject to all of the following requirements:
AB1023,2,87 (a) Each intern shall be at least 18 years old, be enrolled in an institution of
8higher education, and come from a low-income household.
AB1023,2,129 (b) Each intern shall be paid a stipend of at least $15 per hour for services
10provided to the legislator. The stipend may be paid for up to 20 hours per week of
11work under par. (d). The stipend shall be paid from the appropriation under s. 20.765

22governor's offices in the city of Milwaukee and no more than 4 interns under this
23section in the governor's offices in the city of Madison.
AB1023,4,224 (e) A stipend may be paid to an intern under this section only for work
25performed during a 16-week spring term beginning on the 2nd Monday in January,

18interns with businesses in this state, subject to all of the following requirements.
AB1023,4,2019 (a) Each intern shall be at least 18 years old, be enrolled in an institution of
20higher education, and come from a low-income household.
AB1023,4,2421 (b) Each intern shall be paid a stipend of at least $15 per hour for services
22provided to the business. The stipend may be paid for up to 20 hours per week of work
23under par. (e). The stipend shall be paid from the appropriation under s. 20.445 (1)
24(bn) and any matching funds provided under par. (d).

AB1023,5,64 (d) The department shall seek to coordinate with private entities to administer
5the intern placement program under this section and shall seek matching funds from
6nonstate sources for purposes of paying stipends under par. (b).

1(d) Each intern shall perform his or her services for the department in the
2department's offices at the state office building in the city of Milwaukee.
