AR3,1,53 Whereas, Wisconsin is currently facing a shortage of workers to fill the daily
480,000 plus job openings posted on the state's jobs website
5www.jobcenterofwisconsin.com; and
AR3,1,86 Whereas, employers throughout Wisconsin need to have access to a qualified
7workforce that is connected with industry-recognized credentials to continue their
8growth in Wisconsin; and
AR3,1,119 Whereas, career and technical education is a path for students to gain the
10academic, technical, and employment skills necessary to be workforce ready when
11they complete their education; and
AR3,1,1512 Whereas, career and technical education is supported by our local schools and
13technical colleges, which work to provide students an opportunity to explore various
14occupations earlier in their educational experience that helps them make informed
15decisions about their career; and

1Whereas, Wisconsin understands that fostering a strong link between
2employers, schools, and technical colleges is necessary to ensuring our workforce is
3ready for tomorrow's challenges; now, therefore, be it
AR3,2,8 4Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin Assembly recognizes the
5month of February 2019 as Career and Technical Education Month in Wisconsin to
6promote the services and benefits offered by career and technical education
7programs throughout the state and encourage everyone to become familiar with
8these services.
