SJR56,1,32 Whereas, Glen Moberg began his Wisconsin broadcasting career in Wausau in
31994 before joining Wisconsin Public Radio as a reporter and show host in 2003; and
SJR56,1,64 Whereas, Glen used his position to bring Central Wisconsin together over a
5shared interest in politics, policy, culture, our environment, and stories of the human
6spirit; and
SJR56,1,97 Whereas, Glen created and hosted the popular program “Route 51,” which
8offered a platform for a diverse set of guests to share their views and experiences
9while actively engaging the public; and
SJR56,1,1210 Whereas, Glen has played an important role as a political moderator in the
11state, hosting live debates with candidates for local and state offices and managing
12congressional debates in Wausau; and
SJR56,2,313 Whereas, he also served the needs of his community by participating in and
14volunteering for many organizations, including the Community Foundation of North
15Central Wisconsin, the Marathon County Literacy Council, the Center for the Visual

1Arts, the Rotary Club of Wausau, the Wausau Conservatory of Music, The Women's
2Community, the YWCA, the Sid Kyler River Valley Jazz Festival, the Blues in the
3Schools program, Jam for Johnny, and many more; and
SJR56,2,84 Whereas, over the course of his career, Glen has earned more than 40 awards
5and recognitions for his work from organizations such as the Wisconsin Broadcasters
6Association, the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, the Radio Television
7Digital News Association, Associated Press Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Press Club,
8and the Asian American Journalists Association; and
SJR56,2,109 Whereas, most recently, he was awarded the Local Broadcast Legends Award
10by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association; and
SJR56,2,1411 Whereas, through his tireless work over 15 years at Wisconsin Public Radio and
12nearly 50 years in the broadcasting industry, Glen has become a uniting figure and
13welcoming voice for the people of his community, serving as a role model to all those
14in journalism who seek to uphold the values of truth, fairness, and accuracy; and
SJR56,2,1715 Whereas, Glen's superlative career will be held up as an example of how to use
16one's talents for the benefit of all, and his unique and comforting voice will continue
17to be cherished by all in Central Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it
SJR56,2,19 18Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
19Wisconsin Legislature salute the life and service of Glen Moberg.
