AJR17,1,32 Whereas, endometriosis is a disorder in which tissue similar to the lining of the
3uterus grows outside of the uterine cavity; and
AJR17,1,54 Whereas, endometriosis affects around 10 percent of all women during their
5reproductive years, or about 176 million women worldwide; and
AJR17,1,76 Whereas, the pain associated with endometriosis can be physically and
7emotionally debilitating; and
AJR17,1,98 Whereas, 30 to 40 percent of women suffering from endometriosis may not be
9able to have children; and
AJR17,1,1010 Whereas, endometriosis can be treated but is not yet curable; and
AJR17,1,1211 Whereas, the cause of endometriosis is as yet unknown, but is not transmissible

2they may be affected by the disease and to seek treatment; and

4opportunity to learn more about the disease while providing those impacted by
5endometriosis with a platform to share their stories, build relationships, and receive
6the resources and support they need; now, therefore, be it
AJR17,2,9 7Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
8State Legislature does hereby recognize March 2021 as Endometriosis Awareness
9Month.
