ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 8, TO ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2009 ASSEMBLY BILL 253

AB253-ASA1-AA8,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB253-ASA1-AA8,1,2 1. Page 3, line 1: before that line insert:

AB253-ASA1-AA8,1,4 " Section 1g. 14.035 of the statutes is renumbered 14.035 (1) and amended to read:

AB253-ASA1-AA8,1,6 14.035 (1) The Subject to sub. (2), the governor may, on behalf of this state, enter into any compact that has been negotiated under 25 USC 2710 (d).

AB253-ASA1-AA8, s. 1i Section 1i. 14.035 (2) of the statutes is created to read:

AB253-ASA1-AA8,2,2 14.035 (2) In negotiating a compact, or the renewal, extension, or amendment of a compact, under sub. (1) with an American Indian tribe or band, the governor shall request that the tribe or band adopt prohibitions against smoking in all facilities located in this state in which class III gaming, as defined in 25 USC 2703 (8), is conducted, and in all taverns and restaurants associated with the facilities, that are consistent with the prohibitions against smoking under s. 101.123.".
