AB283-ASA1-AA7,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB283-ASA1-AA7,1,3 1. Page 30, line 10: delete "This" and substitute "Except as provided in par. (am), this".

AB283-ASA1-AA7,1,4 2. Page 30, line 14: after that line insert:

AB283-ASA1-AA7,1,5 " Section 76m. 969.01 (2) (am) of the statutes is created to read:

AB283-ASA1-AA7,2,2 969.01 (2) (am) If the number of a person's convictions under ss. 940.09 (1) and 940.25 in the person's lifetime, plus the total number of suspensions, revocations, and other convictions counted under s. 343.307 (1) equals 3, the trial court may, in its discretion, release the person pursuant to s. 969.02 for the purpose of receiving treatment or counseling for alcohol or drug abuse if a licensed driver assumes responsibility for transporting the person from prison or jail to the treatment or counseling facility and returning the person to prison or jail after the person receives treatment or counseling.".
