ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 13, TO 2009 SENATE BILL 434

SB434-AA13,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by senate substitute amendment 1, as follows:

SB434-AA13,1,3 1. Page 2, line 6: after "(3)," insert "and subject to par. (em),".

SB434-AA13,1,4 2. Page 3, line 13: after that line insert:

SB434-AA13,1,8 "(em) 1. If the department determines that a person has become ill because of consuming unpasteurized milk, the department shall suspend the sale of unpasteurized milk under par. (b). The department shall notify each milk producer registered under par. (a) if it suspends the sale of unpasteurized milk.

SB434-AA13,2,3 2. If the department suspends the sale of unpasteurized milk under subd. 1., the department shall study whether the sale of unpasteurized milk for human consumption is safe. If the department does not determine that the sale of unpasteurized milk for human consumption is safe, the suspension remains in effect. If the department determines that the sale of unpasteurized milk for human consumption is safe, the suspension terminates on the day on which the department makes that determination or on the 90th day after the day on which the suspension took effect, whichever is later, subject to par. (f).".
