SB62-AA45,1,2 21. Page 379, line 25: after that line insert:
SB62-AA45,1,3 3" Section 9157. Nonstatutory provisions; Other.
SB62-AA45,1,4 4(1q) Government efficiency task force.
SB62-AA45,1,6 5(a) There is created a Government Efficiency Task Force consisting of 10
6members who shall be appointed as follows:
SB62-AA45,1,7 71. Two members shall be appointed by the speaker of the assembly.
SB62-AA45,1,8 82. Two members shall be appointed by the assembly minority leader.
SB62-AA45,1,9 93. Two members shall be appointed by the senate majority leader.
SB62-AA45,1,10 104. Two members shall be appointed by the senate minority leader.
SB62-AA45,1,11 115. Two members shall be appointed by the governor.
SB62-AA45,2,2 12(b) Each member of the task force shall be a representative of a private sector
13business that is located in this state. No member shall be an employee or agent of

1any governmental unit or of any association that employs a lobbyist, as defined in
2section 13.62 (11) of the statutes.
SB62-AA45,2,4 3(c) The members of the task force shall serve without compensation or
4reimbursement for personal expenses.
SB62-AA45,2,6 5(d) Vacancies in the membership of the task force shall be filled in the same
6manner as original appointments are made.
SB62-AA45,2,9 7(e) The director of the legislative fiscal bureau shall, upon consultation with the
8members, call the first meeting of the task force. At its first meeting, the task force
9shall elect from its membership a chair, vice-chair, and secretary.
SB62-AA45,2,14 10(f) The legislative fiscal bureau shall provide staffing assistance to the task
11force. The department of administration shall also provide staffing assistance upon
12request of the task force. Each state agency, as defined in section 20.001 (1) of the
13statutes, shall provide such information to the task force as may be required to carry
14out its mission.
SB62-AA45,2,19 15(g) The task force shall find opportunities for the units of government at all
16levels to collaborate, achieve greater efficiency, and realize savings in tax dollars. In
17particular, the task force shall examine ways to streamline and pool governmental
18services, and determine potential savings that could be realized from bulk
19purchasing.
SB62-AA45,2,21 20(h) The task force shall report its recommendations to the governor and the
21presiding officer of each house of the legislature no later than June 1, 2009.".
