Scope

  • This report will present options for legislation to support Wisconsin pollinators, based on stakeholder input, relevant scientific literature, and approaches taken by other states and at the federal level. Noting the bipartisan recognition of the importance of pollinators to the state’s agricultural, economic, and ecological health, the report will review and present a range of approaches for legislative consideration, including options that: provide incentives for pollinator research, monitoring, and awareness; promote pollinator habitat and beekeeping; and encourage pollinator-friendly agricultural practices. The report will primarily focus on nonregulatory approaches to supporting pollinator health in Wisconsin.
