Pursuant to 1997 Wisconsin Act 306, the Department of Financial Institutions is required to prepare by November 1, 1998, a report to the Joint Committee on Information Policy and the Governor's Commission on the Use of Electronic Signatures. This report is to contain any information and recommendations that the Department considers useful to governmental units in implementing systems to use electronic signatures to authenticate electronic documents submitted to governmental units.
Pursuant to Wis. Stat. Sec. 13.172(3), the Department of Financial Institutions submits this report to the Chief Clerks via www.esignatures.org - The official website of the Governor's Commission on the Use of Electronic Signatures. On October 19, 1998, the Department presented this report to the commission via this website at the Commission's first meeting.
