Joint Survey Committee on Tax Exemptions
Report of the joint survey committee on Tax Exemptions received on:
Senate Bill 18
Relating to: limiting the property tax exemption for hospitals to exclude health and fitness centers.
This Bill is good public policy. However, the Joint Survey Committee on Tax Exemptions recommends that the standing committees which later consider this Bill amend the Bill to define what is meant by a "health and fitness center."

Chapter 34, Laws of 1979, requires that when the Department of Administration maintains an office in Washington, D.C. for the purpose of promoting federal/state cooperation, it should submit a report detailing the activities of the office and reporting the status of federal legislation of concern to the Legislature and other state agencies (Wis. Stats. 16.548 (2)).
The report for the period January 1, 1997, through March 31, 1997, is attached.
