AB344,1,2 1An Act relating to: school district achievement guarantee contracts and making
2an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, certain school districts are eligible to enter into an
achievement guarantee contract with the department of public instruction. The
contract requires the school district to reduce class size, provide a rigorous academic
curriculum, develop a staff development program, keep school open every day from
early in the morning until late in the day and collaborate with community
organizations to make educational and recreational opportunities available in the
school to all school district residents. School districts entering into such contracts
receive additional state aid.
This bill increases the amount of state aid provided to such school districts in
the 1997-99 fiscal biennium.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
