To the Honorable, the Assembly:
As part of a five-year plan to evaluate the effectiveness of prevention strategies most commonly used in Wisconsin schools, the Department of Public Instruction has completed an evaluation of the Families and Schools Together (FAST) Grant Program.
The study, which was completed during the 1998-99 school year, focused on whether or not programs that began with categorical funds were sustainable as well as how programs were modified for that same purpose.
Enclosed is a copy of the Executive Summary of the study. If you have questions regarding the findings, please call Steve Fernan at (608) 266-3889.
Sincerely,
