AJR59,1,43 Whereas, the tragic events of September 11, 2001, brought sorrow to our nation
4and Wisconsin and especially the families who lost loved ones; and
AJR59,1,65 Whereas, the actions of terrorists were designed to strike fear in the hearts and
6minds of all Americans and break our nation's spirit; and
AJR59,1,127 Whereas, in the hours and days that followed these tragic events, the strength
8of America came shining through with extraordinary acts of courage and sacrifice to
9rescue those in harm's way, selfless acts of compassion and sympathy for the victims
10of this tragedy, willing acts of volunteers to help in any way possible, and the patriotic
11acts of Americans showing their support for this great nation and all that it stands
12for; and

1Whereas, the Wisconsin State Legislature is united in its support for the actions
2of President George W. Bush and the Congress to declare war on terrorism and the
3rogue nations that aid and abet terrorists; now, therefore, be it
AJR59,2,6 4Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
5Wisconsin State Legislature proclaim September 11th of each year as a State Day of
6Remembrance; and, be it further
AJR59,2,9 7Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Legislature extends its deepest
8condolences to the victims of this terrible tragedy, especially those with ties to
9Wisconsin, as well as to their family, friends, and loved ones; and, be it further
AJR59,2,12 10Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Legislature commends the courageous
11actions of fire fighters, police, and other rescue workers and all Americans including
12the residents of this state who heeded the call to help the victims; and, be it further
AJR59,2,15 13Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Legislature salutes the unity and
14patriotism of the American people, who hold diverse religious beliefs and represent
15diverse ethnic heritages; and, be it further
AJR59,2,19 16Resolved, That the members of the Wisconsin State Legislature call upon the
17people of Wisconsin to join with them in supporting the brave men and women in our
18Armed Forces as they carry out their noble mission to rid the world of the scourge
19of terrorism.
