1Relating to: requesting the U.S. Congress not to attempt to repeal or rescind any
2of the tax relief legislation passed by the U.S. Congress in May 2001.
Whereas, the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (H.R. 4
1836) was passed with bipartisan support; and
Whereas, the bill granted much-needed tax relief for all working families in 6
Whereas, some members of the U.S. Congress are calling for the repeal or delay 8
of parts of the tax relief bill, which would in effect raise taxes on Wisconsin's families; 9
now, therefore, be it
10Resolved by the assembly, That
the members of the Wisconsin assembly 11
respectfully request the U.S. Congress to leave the tax cuts in the Economic Growth 12
and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (H.R. 1836) intact, to allow the 13
implementation or acceleration of the tax relief therein, and to add further tax relief 14
measures if needed; and, be it further
the assembly chief clerk shall transmit copies of this 2
resolution to the speaker and clerk of the U.S. house of representatives and to each 3
member of the congressional delegation from this state.
