SENATE AMENDMENT 2, TO SENATE RESOLUTION 3

SR3-SA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the resolution as follows:

SR3-SA2,1,2 1. Page 6, line 13: before that line insert:

SR3-SA2,1,3 " Section 17g. Senate rule 97m is created to read:

SR3-SA2,1,6 Senate Rule 97m. Policy on carrying weapons. (1) Except as provided in subs. (2), (3), and (4), an individual may carry a weapon in any space within the capitol that is assigned to the senate or to members or officers of the senate.

SR3-SA2,1,12 (2) An individual who is prohibited under state or federal law from possessing a firearm may not carry a weapon in any space within the capitol that is assigned to the senate or to members or officers of the senate. An individual who is prohibited by senate policy from carrying a weapon in any space within the capitol assigned to the senate or to members or officers of the senate, may not carry a weapon in any space that is prohibited by the policy.

SR3-SA2,2,3 (3) No individual may carry a weapon in the gallery during the period beginning 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of a senate floor session and ending 15 minutes after final adjournment of that floor session.

SR3-SA2,2,7 (4) No individual may carry a weapon in office space assigned to a senator if the senator has posted a sign, which comports with any sign that the chief clerk provides for senators, in a prominent place near the public entrance to the office that states the weapon restriction for that office.".
