Born Milwaukee, February 22, 1975; married; 1 child. Graduate Washington H.S. 1994; B.S. education and community studies UW-Milwaukee 2001; M.S. administrative leadership UW-Milwaukee 2007. Full-time legislator. Former nonprofit fundraising professional, precollege coordinator, preschool teacher. Member: African American Chamber of Commerce – Milwaukee; Nia Imani Family (bd. mbr.). Former member: Kids Matter, Inc. (bd. mbr.); Milw. Urban League Young Professionals; Assn. of Fundraising Professionals. Milwaukee County Bd. of Supervisors 2010-12.

Elected to Senate 2012. Minority Caucus Sergeant at Arms 2013.
