This bill authorizes the Department of Transportation to provide funding for
reconstruction of the I 94 freeway in Milwaukee County from 70th Street to 16th
Street, enumerated in this bill as the "I 94 east-west corridor project." Under current
law, DOT may not provide funding for a highway project on a southeast Wisconsin
freeway that has a total cost of more than $500,000,000 without legislative approval.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
