1An Act to create
115.385 (1) (d) 6. and 115.385 (1g) (e) of the statutes; relating
2to: information on the school district and school accountability report.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Public Instruction to include in the annual
school district and school accountability report, commonly referred to as school and
school district report cards, the percentage of pupils participating in music, dance,
drama, and visual arts. Under the bill, DPI must include this information for each
high school and school district and must also include the statewide percentage of
pupils participating in each subject. The bill specifies that this information may not
be used to evaluate a school's performance or school district's improvement.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
115.385 (1) (d) 6. of the statutes is created to read:
(d) 6. The percentage of pupils participating in each of the following 5
subjects in the state and in the school district or high school:
d. Visual arts.
115.385 (1g) (e) of the statutes is created to read:
(e) The department may not use information provided under sub. 5
(1) (d) 6.
(1) This act first applies to the school district and school accountability report 8
published in the 2020-21 school year.
