Notice of Submittal of Proposed Rule to
Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse
On March 11, 2016, the State Public Defender submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Clearinghouse pursuant to s. 227.15 (1), Wis. Stats. Analysis
The proposed rules affect Chapter PD 1, relating to the state public defender and the state public defender Board’s authority to impose conditions on an attorney’s application for recertification and timreframe for an attorney to appeal the state public defender’s decision to temporarily suspend an attorney’s certification pending investigation. The scope statement for this rule, SS 058-15, was approved by the Governor on July 10, 2015, published in Register No. 715A3 on July 20, 2015 and approved by the State Public Defender Board on September 4, 2015. Agency Procedure for Promulgation
A public hearing is required and will be held on a date to be determined.
