LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE BUREAU (LRB)
NOTICE REGARDING EXPIRATION OF EXISTING STATEMENTS OF SCOPE
Effective August 4, 2017 section 227.135 (5), Stats., as created by 2017 Wis. Act 39 and, provides:
After a statement of scope expires, an agency may not submit a proposed rule based upon that statement of scope to the legislature for review under s. 227.19 (2), and any such rule that has not been submitted to the legislature for review before that date shall be considered withdrawn on that date as provided in s. 227.14 (6) (c) 1. a.
2017 Wisconsin Act 39, section 4, provides:
A statement of scope or revised statement of scope prepared under section 227.135 of the statutes that was published in the Wisconsin administrative register before [August 4, 2017] shall expire on [February 4, 2020]. (Dates shown are as calculated by LRB and inserted in place of explanatory text.)
