AB557-SA1-SA3,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the amendment as follows:
AB557-SA1-SA3,1,5 21. Page 2, line 6: before the period insert: "; and increase the dollar amount
3for fiscal year 1995-96 by $43,000 and increase the dollar amount for fiscal year
41996-97 by $172,000 to increase funding for the purpose for which the appropriation
5is made".
AB557-SA1-SA3,1,6 62. Page 9, line 2: before the period insert: ", and substitute:
AB557-SA1-SA3,1,7 7" Section 64e. 85.20 (4m) (am) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB557-SA1-SA3,2,118 85.20 (4m) (am) From the amounts appropriated under s. 20.395 (1) (bu), the
9department shall make supplemental payments of state aid to each eligible
10applicant in an urban area under par. (a) 3. served by an urban mass transit system
11with annual operating expenses in excess of $20,000,000 and annual ridership
12exceeding 7,000,000 one-way revenue passenger trips
operating within an urban
13area having a population as shown in the 1990 federal decennial census of more than
14200,000 and meeting the federal definition of urbanized area for the purpose of
15federal mass transit aid
. State aid to an eligible applicant under this paragraph shall

1be paid in each fiscal year according to a schedule established by the department.
2The department may not make the last payment for a fiscal year until the
3department has completed an audit under sub. (3) (c) of the applicable urban mass
4transit system for the most recent state aid contract period. Payments under this
5paragraph are in addition to any payments made under par. (a). Each eligible
6applicant shall provide a local contribution, exclusive of user fees, toward operating
7expenses in an amount equal to at least 20% of any supplemental payment of state
8aid to that eligible applicant under this paragraph. Payments under this paragraph
9shall be made so that the sum of state and federal aids distributed to each eligible
10applicant for a state aid contract period is equal to a uniform percentage of operating
11expenses established by the department.".".
AB557-SA1-SA3,2,12 123. Page 16, line 22: before the quotation mark insert:

1485.20 (4m) (am) of the statutes first applies to payments for calendar year 1996.".
AB557-SA1-SA3,2,15 154. Page 17, line 2: delete the period and substitute: ", and substitute:

1785.20 (4m) (am) of the statutes takes effect on January 1, 1996.".".
