ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2003 ASSEMBLY BILL 144

AB144-ASA1-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB144-ASA1-AA1,1,2 1. Page 1, line 6: delete "and (3)" and substitute "to (4)".

AB144-ASA1-AA1,1,3 2. Page 2, line 10: after that line insert:

AB144-ASA1-AA1,1,4 " Section 4m. 14.035 (4) of the statutes is created to read:

AB144-ASA1-AA1,2,2 14.035 (4) The governor may not enter into, amend, extend, or renew any compact negotiated under sub. (1) unless that compact or its amendment requires the American Indian tribe or band to make a good faith effort to enter into an agreement with each local unit of government that provides services relating to the operation of gaming establishments authorized under the compact and that agreement specifies that the tribe or band shall reimburse the local unit of government for costs incurred by the local unit of government in providing such services.".
