AB523-SA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB523-SA1,1,5 21. Page 1, line 3: after "forces" insert ", the minimum age for hunting and
3possessing a firearm, age specific restrictions on hunting and on possessing a firearm
4while hunting, requirements for obtaining a hunting certificate of accomplishment,
5and establishing a hunting mentorship program".
AB523-SA1,1,6 62. Page 1, line 4: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1d".
AB523-SA1,1,7 73. Page 1, line 4: before that line insert:
AB523-SA1,1,8 8" Section 1b. 29.184 (1) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB523-SA1,1,109 29.184 (1) (b) "Minor" means a person who is at least 12 10 years of age but
10under 18 years of age.
AB523-SA1, s. 1c 11Section 1c. 29.184 (6) (b) 1. of the statutes is amended to read:

AB523-SA1, s. 2c 4Section 2c. 29.304 (1) (ag) of the statutes is created to read:
AB523-SA1,2,115 29.304 (1) (ag) Restrictions on possession or control of a firearm by persons
6under the age of 10.
No person under 10 years of age may have in his or her possession
7or control any firearm unless he or she is enrolled in the course of instruction under
8the hunter education program and is carrying the firearm in a case and unloaded to
9or from that class under the supervision of his or her parent or guardian, or a person
10at least 18 years of age who is designated by the parent or guardian, or is handling
11or operating the firearm during that class under the supervision of an instructor.
AB523-SA1, s. 2d 12Section 2d. 29.304 (1) (am) of the statutes is created to read:
AB523-SA1,2,1513 29.304 (1) (am) Restrictions on hunting by persons 10 or 11 years of age. No
14person who is 10 or 11 years of age may hunt unless he or she is hunting with a
15mentor and meets the requirements under s. 29.592.
AB523-SA1, s. 2e 16Section 2e. 29.304 (1) (b) of the statutes is renumbered 29.304 (1) (b) (intro.)
17and amended to read:

AB523-SA1, s. 2g 4Section 2g. 29.304 (1) (c) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB523-SA1,3,75 29.304 (1) (c) Restrictions on obtaining hunting approval. Except as provided
6under par. (d), no person under 12 10 years of age may obtain any approval
7authorizing hunting.
AB523-SA1, s. 2h 8Section 2h. 29.304 (1) (d) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB523-SA1,3,129 29.304 (1) (d) Restrictions on validity of certificate of accomplishment. A person
10under 12 10 years of age may obtain a certificate of accomplishment if he or she
11complies with the requirements of s. 29.591 (4) but that certificate is not valid for the
12hunting of small game until that person becomes 12 10 years of age.
AB523-SA1, s. 2j 13Section 2j. 29.304 (2) (title) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB523-SA1,3,1414 29.304 (2) (title) Persons 12 to 14 and 13 years of age.
AB523-SA1, s. 2k 15Section 2k. 29.304 (2) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB523-SA1,3,2016 29.304 (2) (a) Restrictions on hunting. No person 12 years of age or older but
17under 14 years of age may hunt unless he or she is accompanied by a his or her
18parent or guardian, or by a person at least 18 years of age who is designated by the
19parent or guardian, or he or she is hunting with a mentor and meets the
20requirements specified under s. 29.592
