AB517-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB517-AA1,1,2 21. Page 1, line 3: before “application" insert “or vehicle registration".
AB517-AA1,1,3 32. Page 1, line 5: before that line insert:
AB517-AA1,1,4 4 Section 1L. 341.08 (2) (ag) of the statutes is created to read:
AB517-AA1,1,105 341.08 (2) (ag) A question as to whether the applicant wishes to indicate that
6he or she has a disability that may not be immediately apparent to another. The form
7shall include the following statement together with a set of check boxes allowing a
8person to indicate that the person wishes to disclose the condition indicated by the
9check box. “I have an invisible disability that I wish to disclose to law enforcement
10officers and that may include:
AB517-AA1,1,1111 Appears deaf or unable to understand.
AB517-AA1,1,1212 Has difficulty speaking or communicating.
AB517-AA1,2,2
1Engages in repetitive or self-stimulating behaviors such as rocking or hand
2flapping.
AB517-AA1,2,33 Appears anxious, nervous, or upset.
AB517-AA1,2,44 Becomes agitated due to physical contact or stressful situations.
AB517-AA1,2,55 Acts indifferent or unresponsive.
AB517-AA1,2,86 Other (provide brief description).” The department shall inform the applicant
7that an indication under this paragraph will be available to law enforcement officers
8and employees of the department.
AB517-AA1,1n 9Section 1n. 341.08 (8) of the statutes is created to read:
AB517-AA1,2,1810 341.08 (8) (a) The department shall maintain a record of applicants who
11respond in the affirmative to the question under sub. (2) (ag). In the event of a
12request of a law enforcement officer or other appropriate person, as determined by
13the department, for application information, the department shall examine its
14record of applicants who have indicated a disability that may not be immediately
15apparent to another and shall advise the law enforcement officer or other person as
16to whether the applicant is recorded as a person who has indicated a disability that
17may not be immediately apparent to another and as to any condition that has been
18disclosed under sub. (2) (ag).
AB517-AA1,2,2019 (b) Upon request by a person, the department shall remove any information
20related to that person from the record under par. (a).”.
