Joint Committee on Legislative Organization
Madison
October 15, 1998
To the Honorable, the Assembly:
The Joint Committee on Legislative Organization shall adopt, revise biennially and submit to the co-chairpersons of the Joint Committee on Information Policy, the Governor and the Secretary of Administration, in each even-numbered year, a strategic plan for the utilization of information technology to carry out the functions of the Legislature and Legislative Service Agencies, as defined in s. 16.70(6).
The attached plan addresses the business needs of the Legislature and Legislative Service Agencies. It identifies all resources relating to information technology which the Legislature and Legislative Service Agencies desire to acquire, contingent upon funding availability, prioritizes these acquisitions and, justifies the acquisitions. The plan also identifies any changes in the functioning of the Legislature and Legislative Service Agencies under the plan.
Legislative agency employees are being asked to do more with less and, information technology is the key for achieving the state's business goals with fewer resources. The Legislative branch of government looks forward to working with the Executive branch in developing Information Technology for the State of Wisconsin.
Sincerely,
brian d. rude
