To the Honorable, the Assembly:
Enclosed please find reports from evaluations conducted for the Department of Public Instruction on alcohol and other drug abuse grant programs. These reports are submitted in compliance with s. 115.361(7)(c), Wis. Stats.
Please note that in addition to the report analyzing information on DPI-administered AODA grants, we are providing an in-depth report of a study of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program in Wisconsin schools. The study and report were completed in compliance with a plan to more thoroughly evaluate prevention programs. The plan was developed as a result of a recommendation from the Legislative Audit Bureau's review of prevention programs administered by state agencies.
A220 If you have any questions or concerns regarding either of these reports, please contact Steve Fernan, Education Consultant for Prevention Education, at (608) 266-3889.

To the Honorable, the Legislature:
As directed by s. 29.889(11), Stats., the Department of Natural Resources has prepared a report to the Legislature regarding the Wildlife Damage Abatement and Claims Program for the 1998 program year, ending December 31, 1998. Said statute directs distribution to "appropriate standing committees" of the legislature in the manner provided under s. 13.172(3), Stats. In compliance with these requirements, and because the both of you are more apt to determine "appropriate standing committees", I am submitting this report to you, the Chief Clerks of the Senate and Assembly, for distribution.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
George E. Meyer
Secretary
Referred to committee on Natural Resources.
