Special Election, July 10, 2001
I, Jeralyn B. Wendelberger, Chairperson of the State Election Board, certify that the attached tabular statements, as compiled from the certified returns made to the State Elections Board by the county clerks of the several counties of the state, contain a correct abstract of the total number of votes given for the election of a candidate for State Senator, at a Special Election held in the several towns, wards, villages and election districts in said counties on the Tenth day of July, 2001.
I DO, THEREFORE, DETERMINE AND CERTIFY that the following candidate, having received the greatest number of votes, is duly elected State Senator.

Relating to Executive Order No. 6
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 6 created the Governor's committee on Judicial Selection; and
WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Governor under the Constitution and laws of the State of Wisconsin to appoint persons to fill vacancies in the courts until a successor is elected to such office as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to establish a procedure through which vacant judicial offices will be filled by appointment of competent, public-minded lawyers of the highest integrity;
NOW, THEREFORE, I SCOTT McCALLUM, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, pursuant to the authority vested in me by Section 14.019 of Wisconsin Statutes, do hereby provide:
That in the event that there are less than five (5) applications for a judicial opening the committee will interview the applicants and send no more tahn two (2) to the Governor for selection.
IN TESTIMONY WHERE OF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Wisconsin to be affixed. Done at the Capitol in the city of Madison this twentieth day of July in the year two thousand and one.
