Announcements, Adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Lehman, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Racine County Board Supervisor Michael J. Miklasevich, who served the residents of Mt. Pleasant since 1996. A former County Board Chair from 2006-2008, Mike was a great leader on the "Make a Difference Day" Committee, the Greater Racine All America City Delegation, the Tripoli Shriners Club, Racine Masons and St. Richard's Catholic Church. Mike passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009. He will always be remembered as a "Big Man with a Big Heart."
Senator Robson, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the Whitewater Football Team has qualified for the fifth year in a row for the NCAA Division III Football Championship game known as the Stagg Bowl. This year's game will be played this Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Salem Stadium in Salem, Virginia. The Warhawks take a perfect 14-0 record into the championship game that will be shown live on ESPN 2 on Saturday at 10 am. The Senator wants us all to wish Coach Leipold and his team luck against their arch enemy Mount Union College of Ohio! Go Warhawks!
Senator Kedzie, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of UW-Whitewater Warhawks Championship Football Team. The Warhawks (14-0) have earned the opportunity to compete for a second national title this Saturday at the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl. It is the 5th year in a row that UW-Whitewater will play Mt. Union College (Ohio) in the national title game.
Senator Lasee, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in memory of Arni Richter. Arni was an old friend and the owner of the Washington Island Ferry. He passed away earlier this week at the age of 98.
Senator Wirch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Carol Jorndt, a former County Board Supervisor and Meals on Wheels volunteer.
Senator Lazich, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the New Berlin United Boys Volleyball Team, who won the WIAA D 1 Title.

Senator Hopper, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the undefeated St. Mary's Springs High School Football Team, which won the State's WIAA D5 Championship last month - the School's 10th State Title. With a dominating 42-7 victory over Arcadia to cap the season, Coach Bob Hyland added 14 more victories (and no losses) to his all-time record of 348-99-2, which is only two victories shy of first place on the state's all-time wins list.
