Third Reading of Joint Resolutions and Bills
Assembly Bill 7
Relating to: requiring certain identification in order to vote at a polling place or obtain an absentee ballot, verification of the addresses of electors, absentee voting procedure in certain residential care apartment complexes and adult family homes, identification cards issued by the Department of Transportation, creating an identification certificate issued by the Department of Transportation, requiring the exercise of rule-making authority, and providing a penalty.
President Ellis addressed the Senate:
"Pursuant to Senate Rule 76 and the committee on Senate Organization, we have established time limits for the consideration on Assembly Bill 7 and any other matters to come before the Senate today.
S299 Pursuant to that directive, the Senate will vote at 11 A.M. on the question of concurrence, and any other subsidiary motions that are made after that will be clocked in at 15 minutes."
Senator Miller moved that the actions of the committee on Senate Organization be repealed, and that the established time limits be removed.

Announcements, Adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Larson, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Kristine Schwanda and Molly Swank. Both women are constituents of Senator Larson and members of Emerge Wisconsin's 2011 class. Emerge Wisconsin is part of a national movement to address the under-representation of women in elected office at the local, state, and federal level.
