SB182,1,2 1An Act to create 121.15 (1m) (a) 3. of the statutes; relating to: phasing out the
2annual delay in school aid payments.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, annually the state delays $75,000,000 in school aid
payments until the fourth Monday in July of the following school year.
This bill phases out this delay in school aid payments. The bill reduces the
amount of the delayed payment to $56,250,000 in the 2001-02 school year, to
$37,500,000 in the 2002-03 school year, to $18,750,000 in the 2003-04 school year,
and to zero thereafter.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB182, s. 1 3Section 1. 121.15 (1m) (a) 3. of the statutes is repealed and created to read:
SB182,1,64 121.15 (1m) (a) 3. Of the amount appropriated under s. 20.255 (2) (ac) in each
5of the following school years, the state shall pay the amount indicated on the 4th
6Monday in July of the following school year:
