1995 WISCONSIN ACT 214
An Act to amend 939.45 (5) (a) 3. and 948.01 (3) of the statutes; relating to: crimes against children and persons responsible for a child.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
214,1 Section 1. 939.45 (5) (a) 3. of the statutes is amended to read:
939.45 (5) (a) 3. "Person responsible for the child's welfare" includes the child's parent, stepparent or guardian; an employe of a public or private residential home, institution or agency in which the child resides or is confined or that provides services to the child; or any other person legally responsible for the child's welfare in a residential setting.
214,2 Section 2. 948.01 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:
948.01 (3) "Person responsible for the child's welfare" includes the child's parent; stepparent; guardian; foster parent; treatment foster parent; an employe of a public or private residential home, institution or agency; other person legally responsible for the child's welfare in a residential setting; or a person employed by one legally responsible for the child's welfare to exercise temporary control or care for the child.
214,3 Section 3. Initial applicability.
(1)  This act first applies to offenses committed on the effective date of this subsection.
