4880.17 Appointment of successor guardian. When a guardian dies, is
5removed by order of the court, or resigns and such resignation is accepted by the
6court, the court may appoint
another guardian in his or her place a competent and
7suitable person as successor guardian. The court may, upon request of any interested
8person or on its own motion, direct that the petition for appointment of a successor
9guardian be heard in the same manner and subject to the same requirements as
are
10herein provided
under this chapter for an original appointment of a guardian.

(1) This act first applies to the death, removal or resignation of a guardian that
13occurs on the effective date of this subsection.
