It is with great pleasure that I present to you the sixteenth edition of the Affirmative Action Report for Wisconsin State Government. The purpose of the report is to provide an overview of the state's work force and show the progress made in the past year.
There has been steady growth in the number and percentage of racial/ethnic minorities, women and persons with disabilities in the permanent classified work force. The strength of Wisconsin's classified and unclassified work force continues to be enhanced as we diversify and provide opportunities for all of our citizens. We know that when we meet our goal to eliminate underutilized job categories at all levels, we will not only have improved our work force but also our delivery of service to our state's citizenry.
With a renewed sense of purpose, plans are already in place to build upon the successes of the past. We will continue the positive movement on diversifying our work force.
