Relating to a Proclamation that the Flags of the United States and the State of Wisconsin be Flown at Half-Staff as a Mark of respect for the Late Ronald H. Brown, Secretary of Commerce of the United States of America and all those killed in the April 3, 1996, crash of the U. S. Air Force aircraft in Croatia
WHEREAS, on April 3, 1996, Secretary Ronald H. Brown died in an aircraft accident while in Croatia; and
WHEREAS, Secretary Brown was engaged in official business of the United States government at the time of his death; and
WHEREAS, the officials and executives who were a part of Secretary Brown's mission were engaged in the important work of rebuilding the economy of Bosnia and Croatia.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, TOMMY G. THOMPSON, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, by the authority vested in me by Federal and State law, DO HEREBY ORDER that the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff at all buildings, grounds and military installations of the State of Wisconsin equipped with such flags beginning forthwith until sundown on Wednesday, April 10, 1996.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Wisconsin to be affixed. Done at the Capitol in the city of Madison this fourth day of April in the year one thousand nine hundred and ninety-six.
