Relating to a Proclamation that the Flag of the United States and the Flag of the State of Wisconsin be Flown at Half-Staff as a Mark of Respect for the Late Officer Wendolyn Tanner of the Milwaukee Police Department
WHEREAS, on the evening of September 7, 1996, Police Officer Wendolyn Tanner was killed in the line of duty; and
WHEREAS, Officer Tanner served the people of Milwaukee and the people of Wisconsin with distinction and honor;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, TOMMY G. THOMPSON, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, by the authority vested in me by the Federal and State law, DO HEREBY ORDER that the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff at all building, grounds and military installations of the State of Wisconsin equipped with such flags beginning forthwith until sundown on September 11, 1996.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Wisconsin to be affixed. Done at the Capitol in the city of Madison this eight day of September in the year one thousand nine hundred and ninety-six.
