4States that brings prospective foreign buyers to a central location and that is
5certified or coordinated by the U.S. department of commerce or the department.
AB150,2237,8 6(2) Subject to sub. (5), the department may make reimbursements totaling no
7more than $100,000 in a fiscal year from the appropriations under s. 20.143 (1) (c)
8and (ie) to eligible businesses for any of the following:
AB150,2237,109 (a) Fees for participation in a trade show or matchmaker trade delegation
10event.
AB150,2237,1211 (b) Costs associated with shipping displays, sample products, catalogs or
12advertising material to a trade show or matchmaker trade delegation event.
AB150,2237,1413 (c) Costs incurred at a trade show or matchmaker trade delegation event for
14utilities, booth construction or necessary modifications or repairs.
AB150,2237,1715 (d) Costs associated with foreign language translation of brochures or product
16information or with the use of translation services at a trade show or matchmaker
17trade delegation event.
AB150,2237,19 18(3) An eligible business seeking reimbursement under this section shall submit
19to the department an application containing all of the following:
AB150,2237,2220 (a) An export development plan and a description of how the activities for which
21reimbursement is sought will benefit the applicant's ability to export its product or
22service.
AB150,2237,2423 (b) An itemized budget for expenses expected to be incurred for all of the
24activities for which reimbursement is sought.
AB150,2237,2525 (c) A description of the proposed use of the reimbursement.

1(d) Assurance that at least 50% of the manufactured value of the product or of
2the performance value of the service will be produced in this state.
AB150,2238,4 3(4) (a) The department may approve an eligible business for reimbursement
4after considering all of the following:
AB150,2238,65 1. The extent to which the business' export development plan demonstrates the
6potential of the product or service to be exported in a particular foreign market.
AB150,2238,87 2. The extent to which the business' proposed reimbursable activities relate to
8the potential success of the product or service to be exported.
AB150,2238,109 (b) The department shall give priority for reimbursements under this section
10to eligible businesses participating in the department's export mentoring program.
AB150,2238,11 11(5) The department may not do any of the following:
AB150,2238,1212 (a) Reimburse an eligible business more than $5,000 in a 12-month period.
AB150,2238,1413 (b) Reimburse an eligible business more than $5,000 for participation in a trade
14show or matchmaker trade delegation event.
AB150,2238,1715 (c) Reimburse an eligible business for participating more than one time in the
16same trade show or matchmaker trade delegation event held at different times or in
17different locations.
AB150,2238,1918 (d) Reimburse an eligible business more than $15,000 over the life of the
19program.
AB150,2238,23 20(6) An eligible business that is approved for a reimbursement under sub. (4)
21shall provide to the department, within 90 days after the trade show or matchmaker
22trade delegation event for which the reimbursement is sought, documentation
23detailing the costs for which the reimbursement is sought.
