11Grants shall be awarded to students for full-time or part-time attendance at any

14certification under s. 49.855 (7) that the student is delinquent in child support or
15maintenance payments or owes past support, medical expenses or birth expenses.
16Grants shall be renewable for up to 5 years if a recipient remains in good academic

18language and culture education board shall advise the

19educational aids board on the allocation of grants to students enrolled less than

12exempt from all tuition and fees, including segregated fees, in the subsequent year,
13subject to the availability of funds, except that the maximum scholarship for a
14scholar who receives an original scholarship for the 1996-97 academic year or for any
15academic year thereafter may not exceed $2,250 per academic year. No scholar is
16eligible for an exemption for more than 4 years at a center or institution or more than
173 years at a district school.

(4) (a) The
department board shall make the payments under subs. (2)

14the amount of the payment from institutional funds, gifts or grants. Beginning in

16centers and institutions within the university of Wisconsin system shall be satisfied
17by payments of an amount equal to the total payments from the centers and
18institutions made under this paragraph in the 1991-92 school year and, if such
