EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATIONS
February 11, 1997
The Honorable Ben Brancel
Speaker of the Assembly
211 West, State Capitol
Madison, WI 53702
Dear Speaker Brancel:
Assembly Bill 61, introduced by Representative Scott Gunderson, relates to hunting and fishing fees. I support the fee increases in this bill, which are vital for the continuation of Wisconsin's fish and hunting programs.
Assembly Bill 61 contains a fiscal note in excess of $100,000. Pursuant to sec. 16.47(2), Stats., I consider this bill an emergency bill and ask that passage of Assembly Bill 61 be permitted prior to passage of the budget bill. If this legislation is not enacted by March 1, 1997, additional reductions in fish and hunting programs will have to be realized.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Tommy G. Thompson
Governor
