ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 1999 ASSEMBLY BILL 399

AB399-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB399-AA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 13: after that line insert:

AB399-AA1,1,4 " Section 1e. 940.20 (8) (b) of the statutes, as created by 1999 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), is amended to read:

AB399-AA1,1,8 940.20 (8) (b) Whoever intentionally causes bodily harm to a sports official because of any official act of the sports official or in order to influence the official acts of the sports official, without the consent of the person injured, is guilty of a Class E I felony.

AB399-AA1, s. 1m Section 1m. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB399-AA1,2,2 (1q) Reconciliation provision. The amendment of section 940.20 (8) (b) of the statutes, as created by this act, and Section 2s (1g), (2h) and (3i) of this act are void unless the treatment of section 939.50 (1) (i) and (3) (i) of the statutes by 1999 Assembly Bill 465 is enacted into law before July 1, 2000, in exactly the same form as it appears in sections 237 and 246 of 1999 Assembly Bill 465, as passed by the assembly.".

AB399-AA1,2,4 2. Page 2, line 15: delete "This act" and substitute "The creation of section 940.20 (8) of the statutes".

AB399-AA1,2,5 3. Page 2, line 16: after that line insert:

AB399-AA1,2,7 "(1r) The amendment of section 940.20 (8) (b) of the statutes, as created by this act, first applies to offenses committed on the effective date of this subsection.

AB399-AA1, s. 2s Section 2s. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication, except as follows:

AB399-AA1,2,13 (1g) If 1999 Assembly Bill 465 has been enacted on or before the day after publication of this act and the day after publication of this act is on or before December 31, 1999, the amendment of section 940.20 (8) (b) of the statutes, as created by this act, and Section 2 (1r) of this act take effect on December 31, 1999.

AB399-AA1,2,17 (2h) If 1999 Assembly Bill 465 has been enacted on or before the day after publication of this act and the day after publication of this act is after December 31, 1999, the amendment of section 940.20 (8) (b) of the statutes, as created by this act, and Section 2 (1r) of this act take effect on the day after publication of this act.

AB399-AA1,2,22 (3i) If 1999 Assembly Bill 465 is enacted after the day after publication of this act but before July 1, 2000, the amendment of section 940.20 (8) (b) of the statutes, as created by this act, and Section 2 (1r) of this act take effect on December 31, 1999, or on the date that the treatment of section 939.50 (1) (i) and (3) (i) of the statutes by 1999 Assembly Bill 465 takes effect, whichever is later.".
