AJR105,1,2
1Relating to: urging Congress to enact legislation requiring mandatory inspection
2of ratites under the federal Poultry Products Inspection Act.
AJR105,1,53
Whereas, currently, under the federal Poultry Products Inspection Act, poultry
4products from animals such as chickens and turkeys are required to be federally

AJR105,1,86
Whereas, under current federal law, ratites (ostriches, emus and rheas) are

Whereas, most ratite producers are small, family-owned operations; and
AJR105,1,1513
Whereas, legislation has been introduced in Congress to cover ratites raised for
14human consumption under the Poultry Products Inspection Act, eliminating the
15costly inspection fees that other meat producers are not required to pay; and
AJR105,2,2
1Whereas, this legislation, H.R. 765 and S. 1133, is an important step in enabling
2the ratite industry to grow; and
AJR105,2,43
Whereas, the American Farm Bureau supports H.R. 765 and S. 1133 as leveling
4the playing field for the ratite industry; now, therefore, be it
