The committee on Natural Resources reports and recommends, with four objections:
Relating to deer hunting and the wildlife damage abatement and claims program.
Objection:
Those parts of the Clearinghouse Rule that create a four-day December antlerless only deer hunting season for the 2002, 2003 and 2004 seasons.
Ayes: 10 - Representatives Johnsrud, Gunderson, Kedzie, Krawczyk, D. Meyer, Pettis, Powers, Gronemus, Steinbrink and Reynolds.
Noes: 3 - Representatives Ott, J. Lehman and Miller.
Objection:
That part of the Clearinghouse Rule that sets the day in October for the start of the four-day antlerless only deer season, allowing the use of bows and guns, in a special deer herd control hunt.
Ayes: 11 - Representatives Johnsrud, Gunderson, Kedzie, Krawczyk, D. Meyer, Pettis, Powers, Gronemus, J. Lehman, Steinbrink and Reynolds.
Noes: 2 - Representatives Ott and Miller.
Objection:
That part of the Clearinghouse Rule that authorizes a four-day early bow season immediately prior to the nine-day gun season.
Ayes: 9 - Representatives Johnsrud, Kedzie, D. Meyer, Pettis, Powers, Gronemus, J. Lehman, Steinbrink and Reynolds.
Noes: 4 - Representatives Gunderson, Krawczyk, Ott and Miller.
Objection:
That part of the Clearinghouse Rule that allows gun license deer to be registered only in the unit where the deer was killed or an adjoining unit.
Ayes: 12 - Representatives Johnsrud, Gunderson, Kedzie, Krawczyk, D. Meyer, Pettis, Powers, Gronemus, J. Lehman, Steinbrink, Miller and Reynolds.
Noes: 0.
