The award is given annually to a woman who believes in equity and exemplifies this philosophy in her work or volunteer efforts, gives of herself that other women might learn, grow, advance, and succeed, provides the inspiration of leadership, and resides in Kenosha County. Troha was the driving force behind two major fund-raisers for the Boys and Girls Club and was named the club's Volunteer of the Year in 2000. She also volunteers at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
