To the Honorable, the Legislature:
I am pleased to present to you the July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006 annual report from the State Council on Affirmative Action. The report summarizes the Council's activities and specifically highlights the Sixth Annual Diversity Award which recognizes state agencies and universities for their innovative efforts and best practices in affirmative action and diversity.
The Council's overall mission is to foster measurable progress towards an equitable and diverse work force in state government and the University of Wisconsin System. In collaboration with the Division of Affirmative Action and the Office of State Employment Relations, the Council plays a pivotal role in fulfilling the state goals of providing Innovative human resources leadership and strategic direction to Wisconsin state government in order to maximize the quality and diversity of the state's workforce.
The Council is committed to continuing its efforts to cultivate a climate of diversity both in Wisconsin state government and the University of Wisconsin System. We look forward to many more productive and prosperous years of growth for this effort.
